We've seen photoshopped photos of E32 7 Series Tourings before, however this E23 is, in a street lingo stylee, fo'real. Does it work? I think so, apart from maybe the questionable windowline of Ford descent.

It may not be the quickest eco vehicle of the current times, however there is something very appealing about the following invention for a bit of fun around town.
It could well be the attention to detail (in the wheel choice and carbon fibre), but all it needs is a tiny kart steering wheel to replace the driver's handles and it would get my vote...

Perhaps they could add this bodyshell on top?

I'm not the world's biggest fan of camping. A gadget or novelty though, now that is something that appeals to the inner explorer within me. If the tent was somehow realistically shaped like an interesting vehicle (I'm thinking an Audi RS2 Avant would be a good example) then I'd not only camp out, but possibly even buy one.

Pop quiz time. What happens if you take a Mk1 Renault Espace and shrink it in the wash?

The answer is the Elswick Envoy:

It may look like a strange practical joke, however the little Envoy was a clever little car. Derived from British Leyland's Minisimma concept, it was based (stangely enough) on a Mini and was designed so that a disabled driver could operate the controls directly from a wheelchair for maximum practicality. A great idea and cunningly executed, in fact there was even a film produced featuring the baby wedge.

However it is William Town's original concept that really hits the spot. It did the rounds at the motor shows in the mid seventies as a possible Mini replacement, yet never made production until the unused design was adopted by Elswick.
Being penned by the same hand responsible for the Aston Martin Lagonda no less, the shape and boxy-goodness are boyhood concept car stereotyping at its very best. You can take your Smart car, Fiat 500 and, obviously your Nissan Joke, this is my choice of city car thank you very much.

I too would wear a white turtleneck jumper just to get one.

Being an E30 enthusiast lover utter geek, I have often been seen posting links to a certain E30 M3 piloted around the Isle of Man by a certain talented Belgian; other-worldly Patrick Snijers. In '88 he completed the rally in first place and obliterated the local competition; a feat that was unheard of at the time.

However later this week, more than 20 years since the legendary footage below was shot, the highly skilled showman Snijers is to return to Manx surroundings behind the wheel of an E30. See the full local information here, it seems the action kicks off this Friday evening. I'd love to be there, but I'll have to make do with this clip again (and reading the write up of course).
